WHAT WILL MU COST ME?
EDUCATION and ENROLLMENT FEES SUMMER 2008


UNDERGRADUATE

Educational Fee - $245.60 per credit hour.
Non-Missouri Resident Fee - $369.70 per credit hour in addition to the Educational Fee.
Recreation Facility Fee - A $66.56 per semester mandatory fee is charged to all students enrolled in more than 6 credit hours. Students who are enrolled in 6 hours or less or are taking classes off campus will not automatically be charged the Recreation Facility Fee, but may opt to include the charge if they would like to access the recreation facilities.
The Recreation Facility Fee allows students to use campus-based indoor and outdoor facilities as a self-service participant. Recreation facilities include an aquatic complex, basketball courts, a fitness center, racquetball courts, indoor and outdoor tracks, and tennis courts.
Student Activity Fee - $61.44 per semester mandatory fee is charged to all students enrolled in more than 5 credit hours. For less than full-time enrollment, the Student Activities Fee will be calculated per credit hour or any fraction thereof.
Prepaid Health Fee - $75.71 per semester mandatory fee is charged to all students enrolled in more than 5 credit hours, optional with lesser hours.
Information Technology Fee - $12.20 per credit hour.


GRADUATE

Educational Fee - $298.70 per credit hour.
Non-Missouri Resident Fee - $472.50 per credit hour in addition to the Educational Fee.
Law Educational Fee - $480.10 per credit hour.
Non-Missouri Resident Fee Law - $467.80 per credit hour in addition to the Law Educational Fee.
Medicine Educational Fee - $659.00 per credit hour for first 17 hours ($11,862.00 for 18 hours or more).
Non-Missouri Resident Fee Medicine - $653.10 per credit hour for first 17 hours ($11,755.80 for 18 hours or more) in addition to the Medicine Educational Fee.

COURSE FEES

Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Course Fee - $40.30 per credit hour for courses taught within the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Allied Health Course Fee - $53.30 per credit hour charged to all students enrolled in courses offered by the MU School of Health Professions.
Applied Music Fee - $201.50 per semester fee charged to students enrolled in an Applied Music course or courses.
Business Course Fee - $34.60 per credit hour for courses taught within the College of Business.
Cooperative Work Study Program - $15.00 flat fee charged for students registered with the College of Engineering for work experience as required; there is no credit awarded for this.
College of Education Undergraduate Certification Course Fee - $34.60 per credit hour for courses taught for Undergraduate Education certification.
Engineering Course Fee - $54.50 per credit hour for courses taught within these departments.
Human Environmental Sciences Course Fee - $37.50 per credit hour charged to all students enrolled in Human Environmental Sciences Courses.
Journalism Course Fee - $40.30 per credit hour for courses taught within the Journalism department.
Music Ensemble Classes - Educational and non-resident fees for music ensemble classes are assessed but are offset by a scholarship award of the same amount.
Nursing Graduate Course Fee - $162.00 per clinical credit hour may be charged for nursing graduate courses.
Science Lab Course Fee - $10.80 per credit hour charged for science courses with lab component in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in the College of Arts and Science, and Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Medical Pharmacology and Physiology, and Pathology and Anatomical Sciences, departments in the School of Medicine.
Study Abroad Administration Fee - the following fees are charged per academic year depending on what type of study abroad program the student is enrolled in: $500.00 for Exchange Programs and $350.00 for Partner and Non-Exchange Programs through the MU International Center study abroad programs. Study abroad programs through individual departments, such as, the School of Journalism and the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources have different administration fees. Please check with that department.


OTHER FEES

Exam Only - $298.70 flat rate.
Expendable Materials Fee - Contact the Art Department at 573-882-3555 for the amount.
International Student Insurance $100,000 Limit - $173.00 mandatory medical insurance charged to International Students with ID#'s 741000 and above; optional for International Students with ID#'s 740999 and below.
Laboratory Equipment - Breakage or loss of laboratory equipment due to personal negligence on the part of the student shall be assessed against the student when the actual value of the supplies exceeds $1.00. The amount of this charge shall be determined by the department chairperson.


MU DIRECT

Architectural Studies - $400.00 per credit hour.
eMINTS Program - $87.80 per credit hour.
Great Plains Program-Graduate - $402.80 per credit hour
Great Plains Program-Undergraduate - $282.80 per credit hour
Health Admininstration Program - $550.00 per credit hour
Health Informatics Program - $500 per credit hour
Media Management Program - $450.00 per credit hour
All MU Direct classes also have the additional Information Technology Fee at $12.20 per credit hour.


The University reserves the right to modify by increase or decrease the fees charged for attendance and other services at the University, including but not limited to educational fees, at any time when in the discretion of the governing board the same is in the best interest of the University, provided that no increases can or will be effective unless approved by the governing board not less than thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the academic term (semester, etc) to which the fees are applicable and such increase does not exceed ten (10%) percent over the fee level existing immediately prior to the increase, with all modification of fees to be effective irrespective as to whether fees have or have not been paid by or on behalf of a student prior to the effective date of the modification.
