Fees - Summer 2013

Tuition and mandatory fees

All students enrolled at the University of Missouri are required to pay tuition based on the number of credits of instruction they are receiving.  Courses taken as a hearer (auditor) are charged at their normal credit value when computing the amount of fees to be paid.  For Mizzou Online fees, see below. Some departments also assess additional course fees. Other required fees may include equipment/materials and international fees. Optional fees may include club memberships and student insurance.

  1. Flat fee assessed to students registered with the College of Engineering for work experience as required; no credit awarded for this.
  2. Tuition and nonresident fees for music ensemble classes are assessed, but are offset by a scholarship award of the same amount.
  3. Assessed on courses with a lab component in the College of Arts and Science in: Anthropology, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Communications, Film Studies, Geography, Geological Sciences, Physics, Psychological Sciences and Theatre.  Also assessed on these courses with a lab component in the School of Medicine: Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Medical Pharmacology and Physiology, Pathology, and Anatomy.

Notes:

  1. $100,000 limit. Mandatory medical insurance assessed to International Students with legacy system ID#s 741000 and above. It is optional for international students with legacy system ID#s 740999 and below.
  2. The International Student Services fee is assessed to all F-1 and J-1 visa status students enrolled for at least one credit hour.  The fee supports University compliance with the federally mandated Student Exchange Visitor Program and Information System and includes advising, document processing, and communications to international students. 
  3. Breakage or loss of laboratory equipment due to personal negligence on the part of the student shall be assessed against the student when the actual value of the supplies exceeds $1.00. The amount of this charge shall be determined by the department.

MIZZOU ONLINE fees

Most courses offered through Mizzou Online are assessed the same tuition as on-campus MU courses. Undergraduate: $274.00 per credit hour. Undergraduate nonresident fee: $478.30 per credit hour. Graduate: $342.20 per credit hour. PLEASE NOTE: Graduate nonresident fees  are assessed to nonresident campus students in a Mizzou Online class: $541.40 per credit hour in addition to the graduate tuition fee. Some MU schools and colleges charge a higher rate of tuition and those are listed below. Self-paced courses offered through Mizzou Online are assessed a $25 administrative fee per class.

  2. If you are requesting insurance coverage for dependents, you must provide your dependent information to the company handling MU student insurance, AETNA.

Note: The cost of attendance presented is a standardized estimate of various university charges and other educational expenses.  Amounts are subject to change at any time, provided no increases to tuition/fees are effective unless approved by the governing board 30+ days prior to the beginning of the academic term to which the tuition and fees are applicable.  Any approved revisions of tuition/fees are effective regardless of whether they have been paid prior to the revision.
