International teachers, researchers, and students who are residents for
tax purposes (and do not have tax treaty benefits during 2007) may
receive free electronic tax return preparation through the IRS VITA program,
sponsored by University of Missouri Extension. This free service is available for:
- Families with income under $40,000
The schedule for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site will be
posted to this website as soon as it becomes available.
Taxpayer should bring:
- All W-2's and 1099's if any
- Social Security cards or ITIN's for all family members
- Daycare statements (provider name and address, Employer ID and amount paid)
- Bank information for direct deposit of refund (bank routing number and account number)
Persons who need ITIN's for family members must contact Judy Todd for help with that application.
The VITA site is not equipped to assist with ITIN applications.
